I teach psychology at Olivet Nazarene University (mainly developmental and cross-cultural) and consider it one of my “missions in life” to make psychological research accessible and applicable to those working with people in the trenches: counselors, social workers, health care professionals, parents, etc.

For those of you who want the specs on me, it runs something like this:

  • alumna of University of California-Davis, Purdue University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Governors State University
  • Ph.D. in Human Development (University of Wisconsin-Madison)
  • licensed professional counselor (Illinois) with a thing for working with families and using play and art in therapy
  • conduct research on the psychology of forgiveness, gratitude, attachment, and bereavement
  • member of the Eastern Orthodox Church
  • native of Northern California
  • current resident of Illinois
  • big fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Blackhawks, San Francisco Giants, and San Francisco 49ers
  • avid admirer of the band, Big Country
  • frequent visitor to Russia
