Maybe you counsel children. Or teach them. Or perhaps you're a motivated parent. Whatever your work with kids, chances are you don't have enough time to finish your own tasks, let alone track down and read the most recent research on the children you serve. And yet knowing that research can help you help them. That's where this site comes in, with bite-sized video reviews of research that you can play as you clean up your office, fix dinner, or just sit down for a short but well-deserved break.

The Video Blog

You can access brief, accessible video reviews of research in child development by visiting my blog. These video blogs draw mostly on meta-analyses, which are described in the section to the right.

What's Meta-Analysis?

Meta-analyses are reviews of all the research that exists on one question. For example, a person doing this kind of review would find all the studies on a topic like the effect of massage on babies' sleep patterns, plug all the data from those studies into the computer, and come up with stats that summarize the entire field of work on that question. It's the best way we have to overview research in a particular field. Yep, it's kind of high-tech, but you'll find my videos to be very low tech!
